MAC Nail Polish Review
Nail polish is a major luxury for me. I don’t get much opportunity to wear nail polish as I work in a restaurant. So when I get some time of work, I never miss an opportunity to paint my nails. I always try to use long lasting polish and one that is good for your nails as we all know how much of a chore it can be. Having your polish chip after literally one day is the most infuriating thing ever. I’ve experimented with so many different types of nail varnish to find the best formula. I’m going to be talking about MAC nail lacquers and the experience I have had with them.
Firstly, these bottles are STUN-NING! Seriously though they would look gorgeous on display. I love the matte tops and you get a lot of product in that jar. Typically, nail polish can be almost a bit of a rip off. You pay lots of money for a tiny jar of paint that is only going to chip of your fingernails a few hours later. With these nail polishes I really do feel like they are worth the extra money. You pay a little extra to have your nails looking so fresh and clean for like a whole week.
I’ve collected two of these bottles over the past year or so. I love the grey colour which is aptly names Greyhound. It is such a great autumn and winter colour and makes me feel so fancy. A manicure and a little bling does a world of good.
Red is of course my favourite colour. Don’t worry I’ve written a post about this before. In an intent to branch out a little for red I picked up Morange which as the name says is an orange colour. MAC have also made this shade into a lipstick so if that’s your kinda thing then maybe this would be a good one to try. This shade is so pretty and is such a great way to add a little colour into an outfit.
The brush on these polishes is such high quality. You can cover the whole nail in one swipe which helps stop different dry times. It looks so nice and glossy too!
The one major downside to these products is that MAC isn’t a cruelty free brand. I purchased these polishes well before learning more about the kinds of things companies like this inflict on helpless animals. I decided to write this post as I know many of my followers still use brands like this. Also, I really wanted to put my opinion out there on the situation. I honestly feel like there is little point in throwing away products you have bought before learning about this or by accident. The damage has already been done whether consciously or not. So what I’m trying to say is an animal has already been harmed. I may as well make it worthwhile and just learn from it.
If anybody has any cruelty free nail polish recommendations please do let me know as I am more than keen to try out some more ethical brands.
I picked these up in The Cosmetic Company Store in Cheshire Oaks and Bicester Village
